CORPORATE JINGLES AND THEMES

In 1984, with an eye to staying financially viable, Phil and myself formed Indian Pacific Music. We first wrote backing charts for vocalists, then produced corporate jingles and theme music. Our early clients included NQTV (Northern Queensland TV), which had opened in 1978. We wrote and produced their Station ID jingle, ‘The Place To Be’.

Our work with Indian Pacific Music led to increasing opportunities to produce a wider range of media for corporate clients. In 1985, while Phil continued on with Indian Pacific projects, I created an audiovisual business, Amadeus Productions, which was subsequently incorporated in 1986. Through Amadeus, I wrote industry award-winning work for clients like

  • Reckitt & Colman (Gaviscon)
  • Pfizer Pharmaceuticals (Sales Training Videos)
  • Jones Lang Wooton (via Neville Jeffress Advertising) and 
  • for spin-off agency, Neville Jeffress Pidler itself (promoting the agency’s services).

By now I’d realised that our short-lived stint as ‘Rock Stars’ was over and we had unexpectedly grown up.

Product Launches, Company Promotions and Annual Conferences

During the 1980s, Amadeus evolved from media production alone to complete event management and the production of Company Promotions, Product Launches and Annual Conferences. Our clients included:

  • Merrell Dow Pharmaceutical (Teldane launch at Jupiter’s Casino, Gold Coast)
  • Merck Sharpe & Dohme (Noroxin launch), also on the Gold Coast
  • Colgate-Palmolive - Annual Conference
  • Ayerst/Wyeth – Annual Conference
  • Berger Automotive Paints – Annual Conference
